Gliding is a majestic way for people to be airborne. It's a breathtaking way to fly, soaring on the same rising currents of air that the birds use, with no roaring engine to spoil the peace. Begin the experience with a full flight briefing, before stepping aboard a dual-controlled glider with an experienced pilot. A light aircraft tows the glider into the air and once at the appropriate altitude (approximately 2,000 ft) the rope is released, allowing the glider to gently move in the thermal currents. Take in stunning views of the countryside and during the flight (at the discretion of the pilot), take charge of the controls to take over the piloting duties.

Start by getting kitted out with full safety gear and completing a short swim safety test at the Lee Valley White Water Centre, before getting fins on, gripping the hydrospeeds and shooting off down the rushing waves. A cross between a float and a miniature body board, the hydrospeed is light, easy to steer and one of the most enjoyable, high-octane ways to navigate rapids. Not for the faint of heart, but perfect for those who can't get enough water-based adrenaline.

Simple really, you just get yourself a controllable power kite, a kiteboard and a big stretch of water, add the magic ingredient - WIND and away you go. Or better still make sure you can not only go out but also come back again. This day gives you an introduction to the sport. The lesson normally includes a short background talk on the equipment, boards, kites and safety kit etc. Then it’s ‘hands on’ in the water all the way! The instructors will teach you to set-up and fly with one of the new generation of water re-launchable power kites. You will then learn how to water launch the kite, once these techniques are mastered you will go on to ‘body surfing’ behind the kite. Finally the flying skills are put together with your kite board, for your first surfing sensation.

Each race for 30 minutes - teamwork is essential as it is the combined position of both drivers' races that decides each team's final overall position. Every driver receives printed lap times and there is a trophy presentation for the top three teams.

Once you have mastered the controls and are brimming with confidence, it’s time to take your four-wheeled beast to the track where, under the guidance of an experienced riding instructor who will ride along with you, offering advice and leading the way, you will tackle the all-terrain course.
